A 17-year-old minor girl was being married in ward number 3 of Churli Panchayat under Thakurganj block of Kishanganj district. But, before the procession reached the police administration team reached there. All the preparations for the wedding had been completed at home. In such a situation, stopping the marriage was a big challenge for the administration. With the help of local public representatives and in the presence of villagers, the girl’s parents were explained. The ill effects of marriage at an early age were also explained. Its legal process was also explained. Then the family members decided not to marry the girl. Said that they will get married only after completing 18 years. Meanwhile, an affidavit has also been made to be filled by the girl’s guardian in the presence of local public representatives.
